Steinert High School (also called Hamilton High School East) is a four year comprehensive public high school, one of three secondary high schools that are part of the Hamilton Township Public Schools, located in Hamilton Township in Mercer County, New Jersey, United States. The other high schools in the district are Nottingham High School (Hamilton High School North) and Hamilton High School (Hamilton High School West). The school mascot is the Spartan.
As of the 2005-06 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,647 students and 101.5 classroom teachers (on a FTE basis, for a student-teacher ratio of 16.2.[1]

Steinert offers Advanced Placement Program (AP) courses in AP United States History, AP European History, AP Computer Science, AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Physics, AP English Literature and Composition, AP United States Government and AP Calculus.
The Steinert High School Spartans compete in the thirteen-member Colonial Valley Conference. Steinert has achieved athletic success in Cross country running (boys), soccer (boys and girls), and baseball.
Steinert's 1966 football team (9-0-0) will go down in Mercer County history as one of the best.[citation needed]
The baseball team reached its pinnacle in 2000 and 2001, featuring three top-flight pitchers and rising to a nationally-ranked status.[citation needed] The 2006 baseball team won the Central, Group IV title, defeating South Brunswick High School 11-4 in the tournament final.[2] The team then moved on to win the state Group IV championship, defeating Randolph High School 4-1 in the final game.[3] The 2007 team won the Central, Group IV state sectional championship with a 5-0 win over Hillsborough High School.[4]
The girls' softball team won the 2004 NJSIAA Group IV State Championship.[5]
In 2007, the field hockey team won the Central Jersey, Group IV state sectional championship with a 1-0 win over Toms River High School South in the tournament final.[6]
In 2007, the girls soccer team won the Central, Group IV state sectional championship with a 1-0 win over Jackson Memorial High School in the tournament final.[7][8]
The Steinert High school jazz band is a regularly competing band. Members have been chosen for the 2007-2008 season, and competitions will begin in January.
The school's marching band, run by director Stephanie Giunta, and secondary, or assistant director Michael Anzuini, was Tournament of Bands Chapter One Champions in 1981 (Group 3) and 1983 (Group 2).[9]
The Steinert Marching Unit returned to competition performances after a multi-year hiatus in September 2001. The Marching Unit won their first "Superior" rating in 10 years at the William Tennant band competition on October 21, 2006, and was ranked 3rd in the state.[citation needed]
