Steve Stirling

Steve Stirling (Born: November 9, 1949 in Clarkson, Ontario, Canada-) is a former head coach of the National Hockey League New York Islanders. He spent a season and a half as coach of the Islanders before his dismissal in January of 2006. He has also played centre for various teams in the NCAA, AHL and NAHL. He has previously served as head coach of the Bridgeport Sound Tigers and Providence College and as assistant coach of the Islanders and the Lowell Lock Monsters. He was named the head coach of the Springfield Falcons of the AHL in May of 2006.
