Strong Mad is a character in the Homestar Runner series. Strong Mad has the size of a bear, the strength of an ox, and only slightly better verbal skills than either (he speaks mostly in an uninflected roar). He is a large neckless humanoid in a singlet. He is The Cheat's best friend and has very fond feelings for him, and few feelings (besides anger) for anyone and anything else, although he did once organise Marzipan's VHS collection, and on another occasion he declared that he would wait for Strong Bad should the latter go to jail.
He is the oldest of the three brothers Strong (himself, Strong Bad, and Strong Sad). His first appearance was in Marshmallow's Last Stand, the first full-length Homestar Runner cartoon.
While generally depicted as having low intelligence, nobody dares tell him. For example, in the Strong Bad Email "dragon", Strong Bad famously tells his students, including Strong Mad, to draw a dragon, only to tell him to "Just keep doin' your thing, man" after discovering Strong Mad carving the word "DAGRON" [sic] into his desk.[1] However, he has been shown to have a primitive sense of creativity as well as an interest in dinosaurs, as evidenced in e-mails to Strong Bad where it is shown that Strong Mad has experimented both with Microsoft Paint (Mad's first-ever e-mail, sent to Strong Bad, to which he attached a crude drawing of a brontosaurus eating breakfast) and with modeling clay by making a short claymation film entitled Doug the Dino, about an orange Velociraptor-like dinosaur who interacts with and eats several cylindrical objects before being pulled into a walking toilet after trying to flush it.
Misapplication of brute force is a Strong Mad strength. While trying to wrap Marzipan's house in toilet paper one Halloween, he punched through the side of her house, holding the paper roll. His attempts at origami met a similar fate.
Strong Mad appears in the "old timey" Homestar Runner cartoons as "The Strong Man", one of Sir Strong Bad's cohorts. He is less square-shaped than Strong Mad, has only one strap on his singlet, and has chest hair.
