Sunny Deol (Hindi: शनि दियोल, Urdu: شنِ دِیول), born as Ajay Singh Deol (Hindi: अजय सिंह दियोल, Urdu: اَجے سِںہ دِیول) on October 19, 1961 in New Delhi, India) is a National Film Awards wining film (Bollywood) actor of Punjabi descent.

Sunny Deol was born in New Delhi, India, to veteran actor Dharmendra and Prakash Kaur. He has a younger brother, Bobby Deol, who is also an actor, and two half-sisters, Esha Deol, an actress and Ahana Deol, from his father's re-marriage to famous actress Hema Malini. He always wanted to be an actor but being the son of the famous actor, Dharmendra, it was difficult being treated normal, so he went to England to study acting. He joined theater called the Old Web Theater in Brimingham, England where he studied theatre and acting. By the time he came back to India, he was ready to face the camera.

Sunny Deol is married to Pooja Deol. The couple have two sons together, Rajvir and Ranvir Deol. The names which he chose for himself and Bobby Deol in his directorial debut Dillagi. There have been many rumours linking Sunny Deol to many of his co-stars but none of those rumours affected their marriage. They are happily married and live close to their extended family in Mumbai, India.

Sunny made his acting debut in the blockbuster movie Betaab in 1983. A series of movies followed and though plenty of box office failures among them, many of his films in the action genre including Tridev (1989), Ghayal (1990), Vishwatma (1992), Imtihaan (1995), Ghatak (1996) and Border (1998) were some of the biggest hits of his career.

He has also had success in romantic and dramatic roles in films including Chaalbaaz (1989), Damini (1993), Darr (1993), Jeet (1996) and Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2001).

Sunny Deol has also tried his hand at direction with the (1999) film Dillagi starring himself and younger brother Bobby Deol & Urmila Matondkar.The film wasn't a box Office success.
