Sybil Ruscoe

Sybil Ruscoe (born 8 August 1960 in Shropshire, England), is a radio and television presenter

Ruscoe began her career on Wyvern FM in Worcester as a news reporter. She was then briefly heard on BBC Local Radio, before teaming up with Simon Mayo on the Radio 1 Breakfast show in 1989. She also started presenting television during this period, including Top of the Pops [1]

In 1990 she took over the evening news show News 90, which then became News 91, News 92 & News 93 over the three years that it was broadcast.

As part of the changes made to Radio 1 by Matthew Bannister in 1993, Ruscoe left Radio 1 in 1994. She then moved to present the weekday afternoon show on BBC Radio 5 Live, entitled Ruscoe on 5, which went out every weekday afternoon from 2-4pm.

Ruscoe left BBC Radio 5 Live in 1999 and has commentated on various sports shows for the BBC. She was a presenter on Channel 4's The Cricket Show and has written columns for the Daily Telegraph.

In July 2003, she joined BBC Radio 2, taking over from Lynn Parsons on the weekend overnight slot. She remained here until July 2004.

She was then heard on various BBC Local Radio stations across the UK, such as BBC Radio Gloucestershire, BBC Radio Shropshire and BBC Radio Oxford, where she occasionally deputised for Anne Diamond. In March 2006 Ruscoe began presenting the BBC Radio Oxford breakfast show following the departure of Anne Diamond. Sybil presented her last Breakfast Show on 17 November 2006. Sybil will be rejoining BBC Radio Oxford presenting the mid afternoon show from 26th March 2007.
