Symphonic Game Music Concert

The Symphonic Game Music Concerts (also called GC Concerts) is a series of annual European concerts of video game music. They are held as official events of the GC (Games Convention), a trading fair for video games in Leipzig, Germany.

The historic first concert took place August 20, 2003 at the famous concert hall Gewandhaus zu Leipzig in Leipzig, Germany, and was performed by the Czech National Symphony Orchestra under direction of Andy Brick. The event appeared to be the first symphonic video game music concert outside of Japan ever.

The second concert, performed by the FILMharmonic Orchestra Prague, conducted by Andy Brick, took place in August 18, 2004. The third concert under the direction of Andy Brick took place on August 17, 2005. The fourth concert, on August 23, 2006. For the first time, the concert featured a choir and the pipe organ of the Gewandhaus concert hall.

The fifth concert took place on August 22, 2007.

Well-known game music composers such as Nobuo Uematsu, Rob Hubbard, Michiru Yamane, Akira Yamaoka, Yuzo Koshiro, Takenobu Mitsuyoshi, Chris Hülsbeck, Jason Hayes, Olof Gustafsson, Matthias Steinwachs, Richard Jacques, Christopher Lennertz, Gustaf Grefberg, Mark Griskey, Allister Brimble and many others have attended the events.
