TANDBERG Television was formed in 1979 when the original TANDBERG company split into TANDBERG, TANDBERG Data, and TANDBERG Television.

In December of 2004, TANDBERG Television announced its intention to purchase N2 Broadband, Inc. N2 Broadband (N2 Broadband) was an Atlanta based Video-on-Demand software solutions provider. In February 2006, TANDBERG Television signed a definitive agreement to acquire SkyStream. SkyStream was a Sunnyvale, California-based IP Video delivery solution provider, with their high density Mediaplex-20™ and iPlex™ switched digital video headends for MPEG-2/MPEG-4 AVC encoding and transcoding.
