TO LUCKY

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

TO LUCKY(トラッキー) is the mascot character of the Hanshin Tigers Japanese professional baseball team. With his girlfriend LUCKY, he always applies himself to entertain the Tigers' fans and the audiences of every game. His uniform number is 1985, because his first appearance was in 1985.

His name, when pronounced in Japanese, would be "Tow-Rah-Key." It is a merger of two separate Japanese words, トラ (Tora), meaning Tiger and ラッキ (Rakki) meaning Lucky. His name therefore means "Lucky Tiger" in Japanese.

At first he appeared on the screen of Hanshin Koshien Stadium in 1985. Then he entered as a real character in 1987. And his design was renewed in 1992, now he is 2nd version.
