Taldykorgan (Kazakh:Талдықорған) is a city in Kazakhstan. It is the capital of Almaty Province. It has a population of 118,400 (2003). Most of the people are Kazakhs.
Taldykorgan has an airport that services a number Kazakh and Russian cities, while its train station services Central Kazakhstan, Central Asia, Russia, Baltic States and China.
Taldykorgan has a diverse educational system, including a university, institutes, institutions, technical training colleges, secondary schools, and kindergartens. There are 27 public health facilities, a theater, amusement parks, libraries, a city cinema, stadium, sports complex, and swimming pools.[1]
The city has a football club, FC Zhetysu Taldykorgan.[2][3]
