Are you aware of the article relativistic electromagnetism? I'd think that "tensors in relativity" should link there instead of relativity, or at least that should be one of the articles in that category. Incidentally, I don't think it's a very good article, but that's better dealt with (in principle) by fixing up that article, instead of not linking to it. --Steve 18:26, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

Addendum: There's also an article formulation of Maxwell's equations in special relativity --Steve 18:27, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
Addendum 2: The articles electric field and magnetic field might also merit a place somewhere, I don't know. --Steve 18:28, 10 November 2007 (UTC) Oh I see, they are there. --Steve 16:09, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
Addendum 3: On a second look, relativistic electromagnetism has defined itself to be about a certain pedagogical argument, and not about relativistic electromagnetism in general. On the other hand, formulation of Maxwell's equations in special relativity covers all the topics in the "tensors in relativity" box, so I'm going to point the head link of that box there. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sbyrnes321 (talkcontribs) 15:51, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Collapsible Table Sample

Here is an example that uses Wikipedia:Collapsible_tables instead of the deprecated WP:NAVFRAME. The "text-align: center;" alignment doesn't work very well because it tries to include the show/hide floating element when centering. You will notice that the text will now wrap instead of overlapping. The wrapping is a little bit ugly when it happens but I don't know how to avoid it. Specifying nowrap causes the overlap issue in firefox.

Looks good to me...is there any reason this version hasn't been switched in? Btw, Template:quantum is so big that it hasn't been put in in a lot of places where it really belongs...seems ripe for the same modification as here. --Steve (talk) 23:04, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

I see that the ability to have different pages call the template with different show/hide panels initially open isn't coded in here. Can it be? I don't actually think that's crucial, but it is nice. I'd take the version with non-overlapping text rather than the version which can get called with panels open (though both would be the best). --Steve (talk) 06:22, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
I've been stalling on this one as I had got attached to the centre justified look and have been searching for a way to replicate it with the collapsible tables; this has not proved possible (so far). I have now included the conditionals used to control the default setting of the current show/hide panel, and adjusted the size and proportions to match the original template. I may advocate a return to the center justified look in the future if I find a way to do so without the overlap problem.--DJIndica (talk) 00:36, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
Cool! Sorry, I didn't mean to be impatient :-) --Steve (talk) 05:31, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

Compare: a further possibility for formatting. Any thoughts? --DJIndica (talk) 19:08, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

Hi, I am working on the Template:PhysicsNavigation template for quite a while, see it in action at here1 and here2, maybe we should think about merging both
approaches to give wikipedians a common look&feel. I introduced a collapsible table some weeks ago, but the caption is rendered in
bold font, any suggestions how to fix this ? If so, I could make topic4 and beyond collapsible, making it the template compact but
still with all relevant informations. Have a look at the template right.{Sheliak (talk) 22:02, 28 November 2007 (UTC)}
I just made a compact version of Template:Quantum (see Template_talk:Quantum#Compact template) with this same look. It's a neat idea, making a template for templates. It will allow people less familiar with html/wiki-markup to create new templates, although i'm not sure it's entirely a good thing to have all the templates looking the same. I suppose further options can be provided.
I have had a look at the Template:PhysicsNavigation; I notice you have used the deprecated NavFrames rather than collapsible tables. As user Starwed pointed out above, this has the problem of the titles overlapping with the show/hide links when the browser text-size is increased. Probably worth switching over. Either way you can prevent the title being displayed in bold using:
<span style="font-weight:normal;">Title</span>.
I'm not totally clear on what you're proposing; can you elaborate? --DJIndica (talk) 22:52, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
I fixed the problems with PhysicsNaviagtion and would like to use the Electromagnetism template instead of this one here, any complains ? Again, see Template:Physical cosmology more info.(Sheliak (talk) 20:41, 7 February 2008 (UTC))
I don't see any major problems, i'm happy with the changeover. Does Template:PhysicsNavigation give any control over cellpadding, cellspacing or colour? --DJIndica (talk) 21:46, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
OK, the port is done. PhysicsNavigation is quite strict in changing parameters, so it is not possible. Note that this is *not* a design issue, rather it should be ensured this way that all Templates harmonize together. If the demand for changing the color is high, I could implement this, but I disadvance to go further 'cause this will break the common look&feel of the articles (and templates).
