The Age of Plastic (1980) was the first album released by synthpop group The Buggles, which consisted of Trevor Horn and Geoff Downes. The album is a concept album, with themes of intense nostalgia and anxiety about the possible effects of modern technology. It followed the success of their first single, "Video Killed The Radio Star" (1979), which had reached No. 1 in the UK singles chart. Three other singles ("Living In The Plastic Age", "Clean, Clean" and "Elstree") were released from the album, but met with considerably less success.

  1. "Living in the Plastic Age"
  2. "Video Killed the Radio Star"
  3. "Kid Dynamo"
  4. "I Love You (Miss Robot)"
  5. "Clean Clean"
  6. "Elstree"
  7. "Astroboy (And The Proles On Parade)"
  8. "Johnny On The Monorail"
  9. "Island" - CD bonus track - B-side of "The Plastic Age" UK single
  10. "Technopop" - CD bonus track - B-side of "Clean Clean" UK single
  11. "Johnny On The Monorail (A Very Different Version)" - CD bonus track - B-side of "Elstree" UK single

Their music video for "Video Killed The Radio Star" was the first ever played on MTV.
