The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic and Madness at the Fair that Changed America is a 2003 non-fiction book by Erik Larson presented in a fictional style.

The Devil in the White City tells the story of the World's Columbian Exposition held in Chicago in 1893 to commemorate Columbus's discovery of America. The Devil in the White city intertwines the true tale of two men: Daniel Burnham and H. H. Holmes[1]
