The Stevens family get a visit from a man who says that they just won an all-expenses-paid trip to an island named Mandelino. There's just one catch: Mandelino isn't a real island. The Stevens are unknowningly on a new reality show called Family Fakeout, a cross between The Truman Show and Survivor. The show forces the family against each other in "two angry factions": Ren, Beans and Steve against Louis, Donnie and Eileen. Mootai, a charming native of the island, eventually lets on to Ren about the false nature of the show. Eventually, the family comes to realization that it's all a fix and with Twitty and Tawny's help, they are able to outwit the somewhat sadistic host.

  • The original titles for the movie were The Even Stevens Movie: The Stevens Get Even or just The Stevens Get Even.
  • On the DVD cover of the movie, you can see that Louis is wearing the shirt that Twitty wore in the movie.
  • The movie received over 5 million viewers during its premiere.
