The First Men in the Moon is a black and white silent movie from 1919, directed by Bruce Gordon and J.L.V. Leigh. The film is based on H. G. Wells' 1901 science fiction novel The First Men in the Moon. This, the 1919 version is the original film and there has since been many other adaptations of the original story on the big screen, radio and video.

When the world learns that a select team of astronauts is to land on the moon, there is great excitement at the prospect. However when the astronauts arrive they are in for a shock when they find an old British flag from years before. Like many films of its type there are weird monsters on the moon, and they don't like humans.
