According to Video Game Chartz (vgchartz.com), the Golden Compass did poorly across all platforms. While the Wii version came in with the best numbers (17,000 sales in the first week), they were still pretty lackluster. Other versions (360 pulling in 13,000), (DS 11,000), (PS2 10,000) were not that far behind. However, the PSP and PS3 versions were failed to be mentioned in the top 200 games sold that week, meaning sales of less than 7,000 per platform. GameSpot rated The Golden Compass a 4.5 for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PS2, the Wii a 4.0 and the PSP with the worst with a score of 2.0. Nintendo Power rated the Wii version a 4.0, noting the repetitive enviroments, simplistic minigames, low resolution visuals and hard to grasp story.
