The Iowa Review is an American literary magazine that publishes stories, poems, essays and reviews, many of which are later reprinted in annual anthologies.[1]

Founded in 1971, the magazine is issued three times a year (in April, August, and December).[1] It is published at the University of Iowa in Iowa City.

According to the magazine's Web site, "Several hundred unsolicited manuscripts arrive each week through most of the year, from throughout the country and abroad, from which we select most of our contents."[2]
