The Mysterious Dr. Fu Manchu is a 1929 film starring Warner Oland as Dr. Fu Manchu. It is the first Fu Manchu film.
The origin of Fu Manchu is given about how a British regiment fired on Dr. Fu Manchu's home killing his wife and child. A white woman, Lia Eltham, was left under Fu Manchu's care as a child and he now uses her as an instrument for revenge. Opposing Manchu is Nayland Smith and Dr. Petrie.
