The Partridge Family Notebook was released in November of 1972. It featured a cover that was similar to the standard school notebook (the CD reissue added a picture of the family in their usual red velvet suits). It contained a few cover versions of some classic songs such as "Walking in the Rain" written by Barry Mann, Cynthia Weil, and Phil Spector.

The album reached #41 on the Billboard 200 album chart.
