The Roaring Twenties is a 1939 crime thriller starring James Cagney, Priscilla Lane, and Humphrey Bogart. The movie was directed by Raoul Walsh, who also directed The Big Trail, They Died with Their Boots On, High Sierra, and White Heat.

After the World War I Armistice, Lloyd Hart (Jeffrey Lynn) goes back to practice law, former saloon keeper George Hally (Bogart) turns to bootlegging, and out-of-work Eddie Bartlett (Cagney) becomes a cab driver. Eddie builds a fleet of cabs through delivery of bootleg liquor and hires Lloyd as his lawyer. George becomes Eddie's partner and the rackets flourish until love and rivalry interfere. Gladys George plays a night club hostess clearly based on Texas Guinan.
