The Simpsons fourth season originally aired between September 1992 and May 1993, beginning on September 24, 1992.

The season contains two hold-over episodes from Season 3's (8F) production line. At the end of the season, Sam Simon, Al Jean, Mike Reiss, Jon Vitti and most of the original writing staff left the show.

The fourth season was released on DVD on June 15, 2004.

Bart and Lisa go to Krusty's camp for kids for the summer, but instead of meeting Krusty they meet his bean-counting surrogate, Mr. Black. With their children gone, Homer and Marge enjoy a romantic summer, but Bart and Lisa are put to work making crummy merchandise, until Krusty returns and sets things right - by taking the kids to Tijuana.

Homer discovers the joys of staying home on Sunday mornings and decides to start his own religion.

Lisa feels self conscious when an artist draws her an ugly caricature. To cheer her up, Homer decides to enter her into a beauty pageant.

Clown Without Pity – Homer buys Bart a psychotic, murderous Krusty the Clown doll.

King Homer – Mr. Burns goes on an expedition to capture a beast named King Homer.

Dial "Z" for Zombie – Bart unwillingly raises the dead.

In an attempt to straighten Bart out, Homer decrees that he cannot see the long-awaited Itchy & Scratchy movie.

Needing extra money to repair the house's foundation, Marge gets a job at the Nuclear Power Plant.

Bart gets a crush on the new next-door neighbor, Laura Powers.

After destroying both cars, Homer buys a snow plow as a replacement. He then starts a snow plow business to pay off the debts.

The family recalls the story of how they got their home, Lisa's birth and her first words.

Homer needs open-heart surgery.

After Mr. Burns is ordered to pay the town 3 million dollars, Springfield decide to build a monorail, having been convinced by the charismatic Lyle Lanley. The only person not so pleased with this all, is Marge.

Selma decides she would like to have children, only to find out it's a lot more work than she thinks.

Bart gets a Bigger Brother after feeling neglected by Homer. Meanwhile, Lisa is fighting her addiction to the 1-900 Cory hotline.

Ralph Wiggum gets a crush on Lisa after receiving a valentine card from her.

After he is convicted for drunken driving, Marge convinces Homer to temporarily give up alcohol. Lisa plots revenge against Bart after he ruins her science project.

Homer is elected head of the workers union at the Nuclear Power Plant which ultimately results in a strike.

The family recalls their past adventures when Homer is hospitalized due to Bart's April Fools Day pranks.
78 - 419 April 15 9F16 "The Front"
Bart and Lisa start writing Itchy and Scratchy cartoons under Grampa Simpson's name. Homer takes a night class after being humilited at his High School Reunion because he didn't graduate.
79 - 420 April 29 9F18 "Whacking Day"
Bart is expelled from school and Lisa campaigns against the cruelty of the local holiday "Whacking Day", a celebration of "whacking" snakes to death.
80 - 421 May 6 9F20 "Marge in Chains"
Marge spends thirty days in prison after accidentally shoplifting.
81 - 422 May 13 9F19 "Krusty Gets Kancelled"
The new TV show, The Gabbo Show, causes Krusty's ratings to plummet, leading to the network cancelling his show.
