Thiruvilwamala

Thiruvilwamala, a village in Trissur district of Kerala state, India.

It is in Trissur District, but it is adjacent to Lakkidi of Palakkad District. Thiruvilwamala is on the other bank of the Bharathapuzha River, opposite to Lakkidi. The place is famour for the Viwadrinatha Temple, which one of the two SRIRAMA temples in Kerala. Niramala is the most famous celebration here. Noted writer VKN (Vadakke Koottala Narayanan Kutty Nair) hailed from here. The place is also famous for the Kasavu clothings made in nearby villages. The mountain and the river Bharathapuzha imparts natural beauty to this place.

Also Thiruviwamala has many other temples of ancient years and have more than 4shiva temples.Ivormadom the krishna temple is fmous for the ceremonies performed inorder to get the soul of dead people merge in peace.Other temples and grooves of thiruvilwamala are:-parakkottu kavu,cheruthrikkovil,temples of mariyamma in aakkaparambu,eravathodi,pattiparambu,kuthampulli,Soudeshwari amman temple(Kuthampulli).Kuthampulli is famous for its handloom clothes all over India.
