Tim Krul (born April 3, 1988 in Den Haag) is a Dutch goalkeeper who currently plays for Newcastle United. He was promoted to the first team in 2006 by manager Glenn Roeder.

He signed for Newcastle in July 2005, on a three year deal from ADO Den Haag. He played in the Under-17 European Championship for Holland in Tuscany in May 2005, and has since become the first choice goalkeeper for the Dutch U-21 squad. He made his first senior appearance for Newcastle in a pre-season defeat to PSV Eindhoven on July 29, 2006.

Following the injury to Newcastle's first-choice goalkeeper Shay Given, he was on the bench for a few games while Steve Harper kept goal.

Krul made his Newcastle United debut in the UEFA Cup game on November 2, 2006 away to Palermo. He had a brilliant debut and showed fantastic shot-stopping abilities, saving terrific shots from Fabio Simplicio and Andrea Caracciolo. He kept a clean sheet, cementing many opinions that Krul has huge potential.

Unfortunately for Krul, he actually injured himself in the warm up against Palermo, and then aggravated that injury in the warm up before a game against Watford, meaning that he would be out for the next six weeks.
