Toa Payoh MRT Station (NS19) is an underground station of the Mass Rapid Transit's North South Line in Singapore. It serves the Toa Payoh area.

Contents

This station was among the first phase of MRT stations to be opened in Singapore in 1987. The first phase included the stations from Toa Payoh to Yio Chu Kang. Today, the concourse area bears the inauguration plate of Singapore's MRT system.

This station was one of 4 stations which participated in Exercise Northstar V, a mock terrorist exercise held on Jan 8 2006.

Falling tiles are a problem in Toa Payoh and Novena stations. Therefore the trademark bright yellow tiles of the station walls were replaced with a layer of plastic and paint of the same colour. The station had been refurbished.

When services are about to cease for the day, southbound trains travelling from Jurong East will terminate at platform B of the station for withdrawal.

Links within Toa Payoh and to other parts of Singapore are available at the airconditioned Toa Payoh Bus Interchange above the station. The following bus services pass by the bus stops along Toa Payoh Lorong 2:
