Thomas H. "Toad" Ramsey (born August 8, 1864 in Indianapolis, Indiana - March 27, 1906), is a former professional baseball player who played pitcher in the Major Leagues from 1885-1890. Ramsey played for the Louisville Colonels (1885-89) and the St. Louis Browns (AA) (1889-90). Toad Ramsey struck out 499 batters in 1886 -- the second highest total in major league history. That season, Ramsey had a 38-27 record with 66 complete games in 588-2/3 innings pitched. Ramsey followed up in 1887 with a 37-27 record, 61 complete games, and 355 strikeouts in 561 innings pitched.
