Tour 00 >> 01 Macabre is a live documentary released by Dir en grey on July 25, 2001 (VHS) and August 22, 2001 (DVD) respectively. It chronicles the band's tour of the same name and focuses more on backstage and pre/after-show footage than actual live performance. A supplemental VHS, titled Tour 00 >> 01 Macabre Deep[-], Deep[-], Deep[-], Deep[er] was also released and sold exclusively to members of A Knot (the band's official fan club), containing additional material.
Most of the concert footage on these releases is of lesser quality in terms of editing, video and sound, than on Dir en grey's other live efforts, with few songs featured in their full length. This "documentary level" mastering became common for much of the bonus material provided on later DVDs, i.e. the second disc of the The Code of Vulgar[ism] limited edition.
