Tribal Wars is a free, online, browser-based game created by InnoGames GmBh. It is a massively multiplayer, persistent-world strategy and resource management game. Players control villages, construct and upgrade buildings, raise armies of various units with different strengths, and interact with other players through alliances, trade, and warfare. Players can create tribes, which they invite other users to join and communicate to each other using tribal forums. Many of these tribes have a number of "sister/brother tribes" which act as one, often making use of offline forums.[1] The name of the game comes from these player created "tribes" and the "wars" that can erupt between them.

The game originally was created in German and then branched out to English, French, Spanish, and even Polish servers. There are currently 6 "worlds" in the English version.

There are currently just under 200,000 players, over 6 gaming "worlds".
