Trinity Niagara
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Trinity Niagara is a neighbourhood in Toronto located along and south of King Street West, bordered by Shaw Street to the west, Bathurst Street to the east, and the Gardiner Expressway to the south. So named because Niagara Street runs through it and the former Trinity College located nearby, the area was formerly working class, many employed in industries located along the CN and CP railway corridors.
In recent years, it has seen an explosion of new condominium loft and row house development. The area is located close to the fashion and entertainment districts.
Trinity Bellwoods Park is a large urban park where Trinity College once stood, but the park is located to the north of the area in adjacent Portugal Village.
The area is also part of the Trinity—Spadina riding which covers a much larger section just west of the downtown core.
Some of the main roads in the neighbourhood include:
- Bathurst Street
- Tecumseth St.
- Wellington St. West
- Niagara St.
