St George's-Tron Church

The St George's-Tron Church in Glasgow, Scotland, commonly known simply as "The Tron", (though it should not be confused with the 17th–century Tron Church, which lies to the south-west on Trongate) is a Church of Scotland parish church in Glasgow's city centre, located in Nelson Mandela Place near Queen Street Station.
The building, which was designed by William Stark, was opened in 1808, originally as St. George's Parish Church.
A notable minister of the parish was Tom Allan, a key figure in the Scottish evangelical movement of the mid-20th century. Since then, a succession of ministers have built up the church by carefully explaining the life-changing word of God. So today the congregation is noted for being on the evangelical wing of the Church, and is looking to develop its mission and activities for the current generation. The current minister is the Rev Dr William J. U. Philip.
Right on the busiest shopping street in Scotland (above Buchanan Street, Glasgow) the building is a significant presence, and the oldest in the area. It is open 12-2pm Tuesday-Friday most weeks, and 2-4pm on Saturdays.
