"Try Again" by Aaliyah, was the second single from the Romeo Must Die soundtrack and written for the motion picture of the same name. The single was successful in both the American charts and the international charts. It became the first song in history to ever reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100 based solely on the strength of its radio airplay, without any single sales factored.

The song was covered in 2003 by German metal band Knorkator for their album Ich hasse Musik, who turned the piece into a crushing orchestral industrial metal piece.

The video for "Try Again" (released in March 2000) is set in a mirror palace with performances by Jet Li and Timbaland and features synchronous dancing. The main stage consists of black platforms set in water with a single light representing the moon. The choreography was devised by Fatima Robinson.

"Try Again" was nominated for a Grammy for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance and two Soul Train awards for Best R&B/Soul Single and R&B/Soul or Rap Music Video. "Try Again" won two MTV awards for Best Female Video and Best Video For A Film.

Try Again entered the UWC at number thirty (30) and quickly went to number four (4). It stayed in the chart for 19 weeks. At the 2000 year end chart of UWC, it spot at number thirty seven (37).
