Tyler Johnson (born June 7, 1981) is an American Major League Baseball player born in Columbia, MO.
The left-handed pitcher made his MLB debut on Sept. 6, 2005, for the St. Louis Cardinals. He appeared in five games for the Cardinals in his first season, with a 0.00 earned run average in 2.7 innings pitched. He is mainly a left handed specialist and his devastating slider is his best pitch.
Johnson spent most of the 2006 season with the Cardinals, appearing in 56 games and pitching 36.1 innings. In the 2006 postseason, he pitched 7.1 innings and compiled a 2.45 ERA, including one scoreless inning in the 2006 World Series, which the Cardinals won, defeating Detroit four games to one.
