Four United States Navy ships have been named USS Intrepid, signifying a willingness to go into danger to achieve the goal.

  • USS Intrepid, the first ship to bear this name, was an armed ketch originally built by France, sold to Tripoli as Mastico, and captured by the US in 1803.
  • USS Intrepid, the second ship to bear this name, was an experimental steam torpedo ram commissioned 1874.
