USS Saratoga

Six United States Navy ships have borne the name Saratoga, after the important Battle of Saratoga in the American Revolutionary War.
- The first Saratoga was a 16-gun sloop launched in 1780 and lost at sea the following year.
- The second Saratoga was a corvette built on Lake Champlain for service in the War of 1812.
- The third Saratoga was a sloop-of-war commissioned 1843 which served until 1888.
- The fourth Saratoga was the cruiser New York renamed.
- The fifth Saratoga (CV-3) was the third aircraft carrier of the Navy, commissioned in 1927 and active in World War II.
- The sixth Saratoga (CVB-60/CVA-60/CV-60) was also an aircraft carrier, commissioned 1952, decommissioned 1994.
In the Star Trek fictional universe, USS Saratoga (NCC-31911) was a type three Miranda class starship in Starfleet.
In the series Space: Above and Beyond, the USS Saratoga (SCVN-2812) is a carrier for spacecraft and fighters and the home base for the 58th Marine Fighter Squadron ("Wildcards"), the main subject of the show.
