UTV Internet arose out of the March 2000 purchase (for £4.4m) and rebranding of Direct Net Access. DN@ had been one of Northern Ireland's first consumer-focussed ISPs, gaining much awareness through its partnership with local retailer Computastore and its offer of a free modem when you signed up for 12 months' service.
