UrRu
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The UrRu or Mystics are gentle and wise inhabitants of the planet Thra in the film The Dark Crystal. The characters are the opposites of the Skeksis. Although they had inherited the mystical wisdom of the urSkeks, they were powerless to use it outside their own valley, since the division had robbed them of their ability to act.
In the film, the UrRu are represented by puppets engineered under the direction of Jim Henson. Conceptual designer Brian Froud described them as "partly old wizard, partly some sort of strange animal." They have gentle features and runic patterns on their faces. They all lean on walking sticks and have four arms each, they have a tick, black blood. They are the wise gods and polar opposites of the skesis that roam the planet Thra. Daniel Peled is a former UrRu. The arrival of Urskeks on Thra was 87 BDM. Time Zero: Urskeks enter Crystal, are divided into Skeksis and urRu.
