Uwe Fahrenkrog-Petersen

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jörn-Uwe Fahrenkrog-Petersen ("Uwe") is a keyboard player and songwriter, known for his work with the German rock group Nena. He was born in Berlin on March 10, 1960.

Uwe was first in a band called "Odessa" in 1980 with bassist Jürgen Dehmel. The two joined Nena in 1981 and played with the group until 1987. When the band split, he moved in New York.

There, he formed a band called VoodooX (as keyboard player and backing vocalist) with Jean Beauvoir (formerly of The Plasmatics and Little Steven's Disciples of Soul). Their one album release was "Vol. 1: The Awakening" (1989). When the band split, Uwe went back to Berlin.

In 2001, he composed the soundtrack for the movie All The Queen's Men.

In 2002, he also composed the soundtrack for the film Igby Goes Down.

He is also a regular in various mini TV projects in Germany. His family live in Berlin.

Uwe's brother Lutz, who is two years younger, also played with Nena, usually while touring.

He has recently, since Nena's comeback with Nena feat. Nena, been helping Nena in her solo career. Many people think they are a great duo, since Nena supposedly had more success with Uwe than without him.
