Valle Nevado, Ski resort is located 46 kilometers west of Santiago, capital of Chile.

Valle Nevado is one of Chile's most modern Ski Centers. It was created in1988 by french businessmen, taking European Ski Resorts located at the Alps as model to follow.

With more than 9.000 hectares of skiable area, it is by far the most extensive, and is considered one of the most modern Ski Centers in Latin America. During last years, trails have been extended and a new snow park and halfpipe was created for different kinds of freestyle skiing and snowboarding. Also, heliskiing can be practised here. Valle Nevado was the host of the Snowboard World Championship in 2005. The resort was also featuerd as a snowboardable area in the Xbox 360 videogame Amped 3.
