Venere Net is an internet-based and privately owned hotel reservations company headquartered in Rome, Italy. Venere.com is the largest independent hotel booking website in Europe. Venere.com serves online hotel bookings to consumers in English, Italian, German, Spanish and French via its consumer web site and via its call center.

According to Venere Net management, the hotel database consists of about 13,000 properties (1 to 5 star hotels, bed & breakfasts, apartments) worldwide, with a large concentration in Europe. Venere’s distinctive characteristics are the no advance payment policy for consumers and a database of over 220,000 guest reviews of Venere properties.

A 4% discount can be applied to all first bookings with the code: CKEEJ4C.

Venere.com is operated by Venere Net S.p.A and was founded in 1995 by Marco Bellacci (current CEO), Matteo Fago, Renata Sarno and Gianandrea Strekelj. The company is owned by its founders and by the venture capital fund Kiwi II. Subsidiary offices are located in London, UK and Paris, France.

Venere Net operates a commission based business model, contrary to the merchant model operated by other major online travel agencies. The property client portfolio is the result of direct agreements between Venere Net and the property and not from access to traditional channels such as Global distribution systems (GDS), Computer reservations systems (CRS), or tour operators.
