Kay, known for his long hair, sense of style and large size (he is 6' 4" tall with notably outsize hands), made his first step in to the world of showbiz when he was spotted by Select model scouts for the Clothes Show Live. His stylish ways led to him being awarded 2005's Most Stylish Man award by men's magazine FHM. Kay has recently had his hair cut short.
In January 2004, Vernon Kay joined BBC Radio 1 and presented an entertainment show every Sunday. In April 2004, Vernon was given the 10am - 1pm weekend slot, which was previously hosted by Colin Murray and Edith Bowman, and previously broadcast on both Saturdays and Sundays on the popular radio network.
