The Vichy Government is a British casio nihilist band signed to Filthy Little Angels Records.

The band formed in 2002 in Cambridge and had six weeks to write some songs for their first gig at a Cambridge club. Taking a lo fi attitude to an extreme the bands music consists of a cheap Casio keyboard and drum machine backing, together with Jamie Manners spoken word vocals. The songs are generally recorded onto a four track on top of a stack of carefully chosen books in keyboardist Andrew Chilton's Cambridge bedroom.

The song "I Control Discourse" appeared on an Angular Recording Corporation compilation in 2002 and their debut album Carrion Camping was recorded in 2003. Simon Price wrote enthusiastically about the album in his The Independent column calling the band "the most offensive band in Britain" while wondering what record label would have the confidence to release it. In an Abbey Road / Let It Be type situation the album was not actually released until 2006 long after their second album Whores in Taxis was available to buy on Filthy Little Angels Records.

The band have continued to write and release download singles and play a series of gigs around England and Northern Ireland where they continue to antagonise or delight audiences depending on how the mood takes them.
