VICTORIA, TARLAC: BASKETBALL Each barangay has a large amount of basketball players. It is a cultural way of Victoria, Tarlac. Legend has it, in the years 1980-86 there was a player from the Barangay, Lalapac, named Rico S., along with his team, visited each Barangay and challenged the best of their street basketball teams and won. This invigorated the next generation of basketball players to play harder to match this Legend's record. No one has seen this Legend around Lalapac, the Barangays, or even in the Phillipines. He is rumored to have moved to the States, but some believe that he is in training, waiting, for his come back. Some even say he left basketball for his true love, and may never return. There is a version of this story stating that his sons will continue his legend. One thing is certain, every Barangay is prepared for his return or whoever may represent him.
