Vladimir Stepanovich Golubnichy (Russian: Владимир Степанович Голубничий) (born June 2, 1936 in Sumy, Ukrainian SSR) was a Soviet race walker who dominated the 20-kilometre walk in the 1960s and 1970s, winning the total of four Olympic medals. He trained at VSS Spartak in Sumy.[1]

Golubnichy began athletics in 1953 and became a member of the USSR National Team in 1959.[2] Apart from his outstanding performance at the Olympics, he was the 1974 European Champion and the USSR Champion in 1960, 1964-65, 1968, 1972 and 1974. [1]

Golubnichy was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labour in 1960, the Order of the Badge of Honor in 1969[1] and the Medal For Labour Heroism in 1972.[2]
