WCJK

WCJK is an FM radio station broadcasting to the Nashville, Tennessee market on a frequency of 96.3 mHz. It has a power of 50,000 watts, and is technically licensed to Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
The station has been through numerous formats over the years. In the early and mid 1980s, it operated under the calls WKOS (96 KOS) and later WZKS (96 Kiss), both with Top-40 formats. By 1985, three CHR FM radio stations (the others being WWKX 104.5 and WYHY 107.5) were operating in the Nashville market. This proved to be too competitive for WZKS.
WZKS switched to an adult contemporary format and changed calls to WRMX "The Mix" in 1986. It played the "best mix of the 60s, 70s, and 80s."
In 1990, the station converted to an oldies format consisting of music almost entirely recorded between the late 1950s and early 1970s. Later, the calls were changed to WMAK-FM (reviving the callsign of a very popular rock AM station of the late 1960s and early 1970s).
In 2005 the format was abruptly switched to the Canadian-developed "Jack FM" format, featuring a greatly-expanded, less-structured playlist including some newer music. This format is programmed locally by Marty Linck and Trent "Moose" Pender.
