WCRX (88.1 FM) is a radio station based in Chicago, Illinois. Located at 33 East Congress in Chicago Columbia College Chicago owns the station's FCC license. The station is completely ran by Columbia College Chicago students. The station is operated by the school's radio department.
In 2005 WCRX-FM, received first place and a finalist award in the 2005 Collegiate Broadcasters Inc., National Student Radio Production Awards competition. The contest is year sponsored by the CBI, which administers the contest in cooperation with College Media Advisers Inc. (CMA), the nation's oldest and largest college media organization.
WCRX format is Dance/Urban from 7am to 7pm After 7pm the format changes throughout the week Monday: Metal, Classic Rock, Alternative Tuesday: News Review, Sports Talk, Reggae Wednesday: Classic Rock Top 40 Thursday: Urban, R&B Friday: Hip Hop, Live Mixes
