The WEAF region is responsible for 27% of the total United Kingdom Aerospace and Defence turnover (source: Society of British Aerospace Companies). WEAF is one of 9 regional industry bodies, representing over 2000 companies. The 9 organisations collaborate with each other and the national trade associations the Society of British Aerospace Companies (SBAC) and the Defence Manufacturers Association (DMA). WEAF has access to both UK and European funding to assist in training, the removal of waste activity in businesses, forming of collaborations and the development of technology for the industry sector. WEAF's overall aim Is to facilitate the future competitiveness and growth of the aerospace industry in the South West of England. The latest tool to enable this is a free to access regional company capability database.
