WPRO is an AM radio station located in Providence, Rhode Island on 630 kHz. The station is owned by Citadel Broadcasting Corporation, and airs a talk format. WPRO is consistently ranked the number one talk station in Providence by Arbitron. WPRO has won several 2007 Associated Press Awards, including Newscast of the Year, Breaking News, and Continuing Coverage. Dan Yorke was also selected as Associated Press Talk Show Host of the Year for 2007. Many legendary RI broadcasters worked at WPRO over the years. Among them, Salty Brine, Jimmy Gray, Gary Berkowitz, Larry Kruger, Davy Jones and Big Ange.

WPRO's current program director is Paul Giammarco, who previously held the position at WSAR in Fall River, MA.

On August 16, 2007, WPRO announced that former Providence mayor Buddy Cianci would be hosting a weekday program on the station starting September 20. The announcement came after a bidding war for Cianci with rival WHJJ. On September 6, 2007, WPRO announced the Buddy Cianci Program will air from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm each day, joined by current morning host Ron St Pierre. John DePetro will shift to the morning 6a-10a slot, while Dan Yorke moves up one hour to broadcast 2p-6p.
