WRSE (88.7 FM) is a 100 watt radio station in Elmhurst, Illinois, western suburb of Chicago. The station licensee, Elmhurst College Board of Trustees is authorized by the Federal Communications Commission.
WRSE is Elmhurst College’s campus radio station serving Elmhurst and the surrounding communities.
- 1947 - WRSE started as carrier-current station by communication vets returning from WWII. WRSE stands for Wired Radio Station Elmhurst.
- 1964 - WRSE signs on at 88.7 FM with 10 watts.
- 1979 - WRSE boosts power to 100 watts with a directional pattern.
- 2006 – Station begins operation under a Construction permit filed with FCC to increase station ERP to 320 watts.
