WVAW-LP (known on air as ABC16) is an ABC-affiliated low-power television station on UHF Channel 16 based in Charlottesville, Virginia. The station is owned by Gray Television.

It originally began in 1979 as W64AO, a low-powered repeater of WHSV-TV in Harrisonburg, then the area's de facto ABC affiliate (even though Richmond's WRIC-TV puts a strong signal into Charlottesville and is still available on cable). In 2004, it moved to channel 16 and became the market's first ABC affiliate not long after its sister station, full-power CBS affiliate WCAV signed on.

WVAW is one-third of an operation collectively known as the "Charlottesville Newsplex", an attempt by Gray Television to take on established NBC affiliate WVIR (owned by locally-based Waterman Broadcasting). After the launch of WCAV and WVAW, Gray launched a startup Fox affiliate, WAHU-CA, on channel 27 in early 2005. All three stations are run out of the same headquarters with some behind-the-scenes duties being run alongside WHSV (with whom the "Newsplex" has a resource sharing alliance).

WVAW ABC 16 was off the air on Thursday, November 9, 2006 - Monday, November 13, 2006. Their analog signal suffered a fire to the tower on the top of Carters Mountain in Virginia. Their analog signal was fixed and back on the air.

In 2006 WCAV, WVAW-LP, WAHU-CA became the official flagship stations of University of Virginia Sports.
