Wealdstone is a place in the London Borough of Harrow, north-west Greater London. It is named for a locally famous stone, which is said to have existed in the area since ancient times. In 1996, a local public house, known then as The Red Lion, and now renamed The Weald Stone Inn, claimed to have found the mythical stone (formerly the 'marker' of the town's limits) in its cellar. It was set into the concrete pavement outside the pub, at the intersection of Long Elmes, High Street and College Road. The Weald itself is a wooded area nearby.
