Welsh Women's Cup

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The FA of Wales Women's Challenge Cup, better known as the Welsh Women's Cup is the national women's football cup competition for Wales. It is run by the Football Association of Wales.

As Wales has no national league for women (the game is divided into the North Wales Women's Football League and South Wales Women's Football League, the southern league being larger), and the best clubs usually compete in the English pyramid, the Welsh Cup is the only ticket to the Women's European Cup. Unlike in the men's game, however, English-oriented clubs are allowed to participate; Cardiff City has won the last four cups.
