"When I'm Gone" is a hit single from 3 Doors Down's second album, Away From the Sun. It peaked at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 in March of 2003.

The music video was directed by The Emperor. It features the band performing live on the USS George Washington in the Mediterranean Sea on October 2, 2002[1] The video is seen as a tribute to all the Navy Seals and army soldiers who are fighting overseas at Iraq, and for those who died during the 9/11 attacks.

  • Furthermore, the Arts and Entertainment channel(A&E) used "When I'm Gone" during their commercials for the first season of the BBC import show "MI-5".
